BRUCE DICKINSON To Release First Single From His Upcoming Solo Album Within Next Two Weeks
November 1, 2026Earlier today (Sunday, November 1),IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson spoke to Chile's Radio Futuro about his upcoming solo album, which is due in early 2027 via BMG. Most of Bruce's eighth solo LP was recorded this past January and February at Dave Grohl's Studio 606 in Northridge, California with producer Brendan Duffey, who previously helmed the partly re-recorded, remixed and newly mastered version of Bruce's second solo album "Balls To Picasso", now titled "More Balls To Picasso", which was made available in July 2025. Dickinson's follow-up to 2024's "The Mandrake Project" was mixed by Brendan at his Brendan Duffey Audio high-end mixing and mastering studio in Jupiter, Florida.
Asked about his previous comment that his new solo album was recorded without any artificial intelligence, Bruce said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "A.I. is happening. There's nothing you can do about it. But I just don't think that it occupies a place in the world of creativity, 'cause A.I. is not creative. All it does is copy. And now it listens to your WhatsApp, it listens to your e-mails, it listens to everything you text, and suddenly you think it's being creative. No — you're being creative. A.I. is just stealing your creativity and chucking it back at you with no soul."
Bruce continued: "So, when we made [my new solo] record — there's no samples on it, which samples are not A.I., but, well, these days they probably are. But there's none. We worked for three weeks, every day, 12 hours a day, and we put down — well, a total of 18 songs. And some are left over, 'cause we couldn't get them all on the album; otherwise it would be a double album. So it's fantastic, and it sounds great."
As for what fans can expect from his upcoming solo album, Dickinson said: "People will hear it — the first single is out in, like, 10 days or something. We'll drop the video, and the videos are extraordinary. If you thought that you're gonna have problems with the Catholic church, they might have a problem with this video, because it's... But anyway, never mind. We'll see. But the video's about truth. Telling the truth — simple as that. Speaking in tongues. Everybody's talking, but nobody's listening. Everybody's talking, but nobody's telling the truth. Everybody from bloggers, social media influencers, politicians. Will somebody please be able to tell the truth? And then people will listen."
Late last month, Bruce announced that he and his solo band will return to live action next year with a string of highly anticipated headline shows and festival appearances across Europe, enigmatically dubbed "PsychoGod". These performances — split across the summer and autumn — will be the first solo shows by Dickinson since he wrapped up his critically acclaimed "The Mandrake Project" tour in Brazil in September 2025 after 71 shows across three continents.
Having spent most of 2026 on IRON MAIDEN duties, Bruce still found time to record brand new material with his band comprising guitarists Chris Declercq and Philip Näslund, bassist Tanya O'Callaghan, keyboardist Mistheria and drummer Dave Moreno.
Dickinson recently told Steve Harkins of TalkShopLive that his upcoming solo album will include a collaboration with his son Austin. Bruce's oldest son, the 36-year-old Austin is a musician best known as the former frontman for the metal bands RISE TO REMAIN and AS LIONS.
In February, SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser shared photos of him with Bruce at Studio 606 and revealed that he plays percussion on Dickinson's new LP.
This past August, Dickinson recruited horror film legend Bill Moseley to appear in one of the music videos for the IRON MAIDEN singer's upcoming solo album. The clip was filmed in Nevada with Leo Liberti, the Italian-Brazilian award-winning director and post-production artist who previously worked with Bruce on the recent "Change Of Heart" and "Tears Of The Dragon" videos.
Bruce and his long-term co-writer and producer Roy "Z" Ramirez recorded "The Mandrake Project" largely at Los Angeles's Doom Room, with Roy Z doubling up as both guitarist and bassist. The recording lineup for "The Mandrake Project" was rounded out by Mistheria and Moreno, both of whom also featured on Bruce's previous solo studio album, "Tyranny Of Souls", in 2005.
Joining the IRON MAIDEN singer on the "The Mandrake Project Live 2025" North American tour was once again his 2024 backing band, featuring Moreno,Mistheria and O'Callaghan (bass),alongside the group's latest additions, the aforementioned Swedish guitarist, songwriter and multi-platinum-credited producer Philip Näslund and Swiss session and touring guitarist Chris Declercq (who played on Dickinson's "Rain On The Graves" single). Roy is not part of the touring lineup.
Dickinson made his recording debut with IRON MAIDEN on the "Number Of The Beast" album in 1982. He quit the band in 1993 in order to pursue his solo career and was replaced by Blaze Bayley, who had previously been the lead singer of the metal band WOLFSBANE. After releasing two traditional metal albums with former MAIDEN guitarist Adrian Smith, Dickinson rejoined the band in 1999 along with Smith.
